Affiliate Service Offerings

Affiliate Request for UC Remote Access, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and E-Mail Accounts

Users who are not current students, faculty, or staff members of the university, but are affiliated with the institution are considered eligible for these UCit services. Individuals who fall in this category include contractors, consultants, temporary agency employees, affiliates, and others. Affiliates, who would like a UC Remote access (dial access account), Bearcat Online or UCMAIL e-mail account, or Virtual Private Network (VPN) access, must be sponsored and paid for by a university college or department or the University of Cincinnati can accept personal checks when a user does not have a sponsoring college or department. Currently, there are two separate procedures for requesting affiliate accounts (with the exception of VPN access). Users affiliated through the University of Cincinnati Medical Center should refer to the Medical Center Affiliation section. General affiliates who are associated with other colleges and departments should refer to the General Affiliate Section. Virtual Private Network requests should be processed through the General Affiliates section.

University of Cincinnati Medical Center Affiliates

Users who work in affiliation with the University of Cincinnati Medical Center must fill out a UCMC Affiliate E-mail and Remote Access Sign up Form. If you have questions about this or need to request the form, please contact Matt Conley at 513-558-4073 or send e-mail to conleyj4@ucmail.uc.edu.

General Affiliates

University affiliate users must be sponsored by a university department to request any of these services. All requests should be submitted through UCit's online ordering system, GETit (pronounced GET I.T.). The following specific instructions are used for each service.

Account Addition Request - To request an account for any of these UCit services, use GETit. Choose 'ADD ACCOUNT' in the action field for that product and complete the information requested in the GETit transaction.

UC Affiliate Remote Access - Information about UC Affiliate Remote (dial-up) access accounts and Virtual Private Network (VPN) accounts is available in GETit under PRODUCTS AND SERVICES:  Remote Access. Charges for these services are:

Remote Dial Access                    $10 per month ($120 annual)

Virtual Private Network (VPN)       $  6 per month ($  72 annual)

UC Affiliate E-mail - E-mail accounts are requested through GETit under PRODUCTS AND SERVICES:  E-mail. A one-time software license fee is required for UCMAIL. Charges associated with each of the e-mail systems are as follows: 

Account Deletion Request - To request the deletion of an account for any of these UCit services, use GETit and choose 'DELETE ACCOUNT' in the action field for the appropriate service. Supply the information requested in the GETit transaction.
